About Me
Jeffrey Shuster
Library Assistant
"The library is not only the custodian of our cultural heritage but the key to progress and the advancement of knowledge." - John F. Kennedy
My journey in Public Libraries began in 2014 when I accepted a position as part-time Customer Service Representative at the North Port Library in North Port, FL. At the time, I was finishing up thesis for my MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Central Florida. Even after I graduated, I stayed on the North Port Library because I loved being of help to my community. During my time as a CSR, I hosted Creative Writing programs for teens and adults, served on the One Book Sarasota Committee, and endured the chaos of the Covid-19 pandemic and the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. It is my hope to become an Adult Services Librarian and I am very grateful for the opportunity to further my education through the University of South Florida’s Library and Information Science program.
